Mitt
Silk mitts, Hancock, MA
Description
A pair of cream-colored silk mitts. The mitts are finger-less. At the wrist there are three different fancy stitches: a straight border, row of diamonds, and a squiggle-line, before the bottom hem. The back of the hand is a fancy-stitched point. The points comprise of three small squares in a triangle pattern near the wrist, with a straight line, 3 1/2" long, in between the bottom two squares and a solid triangle at the opposite end of the point. On either side of the points there is a row of ten dots, for a total of four rows. The seam between the thumb and palm is a block fancy-stitch and perforates the thumb's knit. The palm-face is bare of any decorative-stitching, except the wrist. All three hems are rolled over 1/16".
