Pattern
Mitten mending form, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
1964.14610.1 is a single piece of wood with tapered sides which round off at the top. At the bottom there is an integral handle with square edges which round off at the end. The handle is thinnest at the base and then grows in width. This makes up the body of the mitten form. 1964.14610.2 is a piece of wood carved into the form of a thumb. Where the thumb piece is meant to meet the palm it is carved so it is flush with the palm's round edge.
