Last, Shoe
Shoe last instep wedge, Canterbury, NH
Description
A wood block cut in the shape of a shoe last's instep. At the joint the wedge is curved so that it has a half-circle face, which tapers as it continues toward the top. The flat side continues straight at an angle. About 2 1/4" before the wedge ends the top of the wedge slopes down in a concave curve until it meets the top of the last and the bottom face. At this end there is an open-ended elongated shape. Just below the height of the wedge there is a through-hole 3/16" in diameter.
