Description
A wood block cut in the shape of a shoe. The last has an almond-shaped top. On each side of the forepart there is a piece of leather attached by metal nails. The height of the last increases toward the instep and plateaus at top. The top is an elongated oval. Below the top is a through-hole 1/4" in diameter. From the top the heel curve extends 2 5/8" to the seat. The seat's sides are curved forming the waist and widening to the joint before tapering toward the toe. The sole is covered with nail holes following the outline of the last's sides.
