Ladle, Church Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Large ladle with copper bowl and iron handle. The bowl has been hammered and irregularly shaped. The handle has a through-hole at its end. The width of the handle tapers and rounds off as it nears the bowl. The handle curves to cup the bowl and is attached to the bowl in two places with copper rivets. One joint uses three rivets and there are two more, one to the left and right, but do not secure anything to the bowl. The handle thins and continue under the bowl and is secured by a single copper rivet.
