Interior of Shaker Store, North Family. Mt. Lebanon, N.Y.
1907-1920
Description
The interior of the North Family store shows a variety of products being offered for sale during the early first few decades of the twentieth century. Very few obviously Shaker-made products can be identified among the offerings. There is an abundance of picture postcards and dishes being offered. There are lambs-wool dusters hanging from the ceiling and appears as if there may be a number of sewing items shown in a glass display case. The store was located in the northeast room on the first floor of the Sisters Workshop. Identified as "No. 502" on the front of the postcard.
