Description
A slightly different version of this photograph is published in The Shaker Image. See: 2d edition p. 181 (photograph 210) and a full description of that photograph and two other published variant stereographs. In this description it indicates that the trip to Old Orchard Beach occurred on September 13, 1876.
Inscribed on the back in pencil: "A group of Alfred and Glouster Sisters, Ministry, and Br. Henry Green & Samuel Hendrick. At Old Orchard Beach on front of the St Cloud Hotell." The back of this view also has a small "D" written on the top center of the card that may have indicated that it was part of someones set of stereographs.
The St. Cloud Hotel burned in November 1881.
