Description
This image was originally produced by photographer James E. West for his series "Views of the North Family Shakers at Mt. Lebanon, New York. These images, in the format of cabinet cards, were originally produced in cooperation with the North Family and were available to purchase in the family's store. Later, when the postal card craze began at he turn of the c20th, either West or other photographers used the cabinet card images on postcards, usually without a photographer attribution.
