Description
John S. Williams, Sr., founder of the Shaker Museum|Mount Lebanon was an amateur photographer and took photographs of the interior of the stone Forge between the First and Second Order of the Mount Lebanon Church Families in 1940 just prior to it being "cleaned out" so the Shakers could sell the property. The forge itself was salvaged, removed, and rebuilt at the Shaker Museum in Old Chatham, NY.
