Description

Chair commode of pine with two steam-bent back slats of ash. Door to chamber pot compartment has between-centers turned maple knob and a carved beech latch. Both the commode lid and chamber pot compartment are hinged with surface-mounted brass but hinges. Seat below lid has circular cut-out nicely carved to a round-over edge. Ash slats housed in mortises in back supports and pinned with oak pegs. Appears to have had a yellow wash applied and then clear-coated.
