Photograph of a retiring room in the Church Family Dwelling, Mount Lebanon, NY. The Dwelling was completed in 1877. The photograph shows a modern bedroom from this period including a bed, rocking chairs, bureau, looking glasses, a clock and decorative accessories around the room. A calendar on the wall is turned to August 1895 -- a likely date for the photograph. The title for this photograph is supplied by Henry Terry Clough's hand-written title on the back of the card. It also included his handwritten monogram which may indicate that he was also the photographer.
