[Sister Lillian Barlow and two Visitors]
Description
This snapshot shows Sister Lillian Barlow (left) with two unidentified female visitors. All three wear shaker style cloaks and bonnets. Sister Barlow (1876-1942) was a member of the Second Family Shakers at Mt. Lebanon, NY. She was in charge of canning vegetables, and was also one of the primary members involved with chair manufacture in the twentieth century. She assisted in building the New York State Museum's Shaker collection.
