Description

This postcard was not mailed or postmarked but was used for a note from Sister Frieda Sipple to "My Friend Str. Julia." The note is dated August 2, 1915 and says: "Do you know any of these good folks? Love to you dear from them. Our dear Elder Isaac's [i.e. Isaac Anstatt] picture is here. Although he has left us for his final home. Kind thoughts and love sweet love to you from your loving friends. Frieda." See 1950.3998.99 for another copy of this postcard. The Western Reserve Historical Society holds a copy of this postcard [No. 218] with the names of the Shakers sitting for the photograph written on the back. They are identified as: "Upper row. George Duncan, Ozias Bogart, Anna Goepper, Freida Sipple, Florence Bourn, Mary Dahm, Grace Dahm. Middle row. Eld. Josiah Barker, Eld. Isaac Anstatt, Deborah Knight, Joanna Myers, Ella Myers, Margart [i.e., Margaret] Caldwell, Eldress Anna Case. Third row -- school girls."
