Description
Steam-bent maple box (a) and lid (b) bands with swallow tails secured with copper tacks. Headers also held by copper tacks. Steam-bent maple swing handle fastened to outside of carrier box with a copper trunk rivet on each side spaced out for lid clearance by copper burr and held by another with rivets peened over on inside. Basswood bottom header. Top header comprises laminated strips of wood: butternut, cherry, maple, walnut on each side in that order with center strip of sumac. Exterior varnished over natural wood.
