Bradawl
Bradawl, Hancock, MA
Description
Bradawl with a turned wooden handle. The awl blade is oval in cross-section and tapers in size to a flattened squared-off end. The blade is set into the handle. The handle at the joint is lighter in color than the rest of the handle and smallest in diameter, likely to allow for a ferrule. The portion of the handle just after this section has an incised line around its circumference. The diameter of the handle tapers to a thin neck and then grows exponentially to form a bulbous base with a flat butt.
