Lidded box of butternut veneer. Corners nicely dovetailed. Lid hinged with small brass butt hinges. A cleat of white pine (with molded lower edge) has been glued to the butternut back at the top to provide sufficient thickness for attaching hinges with steel flat-head wood screws. Lid has butternut molding applied to three sides.
