1920-1930
Description
Dark stained maple (possibly cherry) rocking chair with taped seat. Back has four slats and back posts have characteristic Barlow-Perkins-era pommels. Finish is very glossy. The seat is plain woven with narrow maroon (front to back) and tan (side to side) tape. Chair is stained a dark mahogany or cherry and varnished or lacquered over.
Notes
Given the absence of any trademark decal and the relatively unblemished surfaces of the finish, it is likely that this chair has been refinished.
