Historical notes

The Center Family was originally established as the New Lebanon Church, Third Family in 1788. After a reorganization of the Church in 1811, it became the Church, Second Order and after 1874 was commonly referred to as the Center Family. The Center Family was closed in 1896 and its remaining members moved to the Church Family. The Center Family was a subordinate branch of the Mount Lebanon Church, First Order, and though it had its own lots of elders and family deacons, it was under the temporal care of the Church Family trustees.
