Inscribed: No. 2 John M. Brown New Lebanon N.F. August 30th 1846, and Presented to Charles E. Greaves By J. M. B. (Patterson L-44) Labelled on cover: 44. This label is numbered in the hand of Sister Aida Elam of who assisted Elder Irving Greenwood in assembling and cataloging the Shaker manuscript library at Canterbury, NH. A set of transcribed messages from Mount Lebanon are numbered in this way.
