Hymnal: Shun the Thorn, 1882-1883. Title from first title of first song. Manuscript hymns in letteral notation written on pp. 69-72 and 90-152 in Shaker Music. Inspirational Hymns and Melodies (Albany, N.Y.: Weed, Parsons and Company, 1875.) Inscribed on inside cover: Martha Johnson. On fly leaf a small ink drawing of a dove with the inscription “Zion’s Songster M W” and in pencil Martha Johnson. The hymns are from Enfield, Connecticut; this hymnal is attributed to Wetherell, who lived at Enfield, CT, Hancock, MA, Canterbury, NH, Enfield, NH, and died at the North Family, Mount Lebanon.
