Historical notes
Philemon Stewart was sent to Poland Hill, Maine, from June 18, 1860 to May, 1863. He then returned to the Mount Lebanon where he used the Poland Hill account books as diaries. They include very detailed accounts of events in the 2nd Order of the Church and the 1875 Church Family fire. The preceding volume of this diary is in the collection of the Winterthur Library, item #850.
